G'Day from Broken Bay...

...we are currently motoring around in circles in the middle of Broken Bay! The telephone coverage up here is significantly impacted by the towering cliffs, and Nick needed to make a few calls about moorings and marinas and such...so we are out where the four bars of reception are...circling!

Yesterday, we got up early, had brekkie....

...and then packed up and left at 7:30 am.

It was a magnificent day for heading out of the heads (motoring, as there was not much wind from any direction)...(I steered us out.....our first sea voyage...well...coastal voyage!)

Nick put the fishing line out...but we didn't catch a thing :-(...

As we stareted passing Newport Beach the wind picked up so Nick hauled up the spinnaker...and we got up to 6.9 knots...SIX POINT NINE..faster than we'd been motoring!!!!!

We got in to Broken Bay at about 10:30 am, and headed straight for the d'Albora Marina which is in Akuna Bay....waaaaaaaaaay down the end of Coal and Candle Creek. It was urgent though, because we had NO fresh water in our tanks.....long story short, when we left Cabarita on the 4th...with two full tanks, and were motoring up the harbour, some valve came off in one of the bilges and a whole tank of fresh water emptied into our bilge, and thence into Sydney Harbour...UGH!

Anyway, after stocking up on Freshwater, fuel, ice, break, wine and ice blocks at the Marina we headed back out and anchored near Hallet's Beach on Cowan Creek. We spent the lovely HOT afternoon there, swimming, reading and relaxing. Then we headed in to Refuge Bay, and picked up a mooring in America Bay...

....it is a beautiful, tranquil place...even if a little crowded with boats!

Ok....Nick has finished his business and we are going to head back into America Bay (out of today's wind)!

Talk to you soon!
Sam.
